Molson Group acquires Powerscreen Texas

The UK-based independent plant and machinery dealer, Molson Group, are pleased to announce the fourth acquisition in their expanding United States portfolio, with the completion of a deal to purchase Powerscreen Texas, one of the largest US Powerscreen dealerships.

The deal firmly cements Molson Group as a leading dealer for the Powerscreen brand and expands Molson Group’s reach into Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana and Oklahoma, adding to the nine states already successfully served across the West Coast. Including these additional states, the Molson Group US footprint now has access to a market that totals more than 37% of the US population.

Robin Powell, Molson Group Founder and CEO, says, “This deal is a significant step in our US growth strategy. We have proven our ability to grow and develop acquired businesses in the US and we are looking to replicate this model again in Texas. We are excited to welcome all the Powerscreen Texas team into the Molson family and we look forward to achieving great things together.”

Powell also spoke of the success that the digitalisation of the business has facilitated, crediting their ERP system, dealerCMD, as a significant contributor to the growth across their West Coast operations. He confirmed it will be rolled out through the Powerscreen Texas network with immediate effect. “dealerCMD gives us the data and insight to make strategic decisions to achieve our goals. Being able to implement this system immediately, we will be able to see the quick wins and long-term opportunities that will enable us to provide better customer service, increase efficiency and drive growth as we have done in our other West Coast businesses.”

Sam McNabb, President of Powerscreen Texas commented: “We are looking forward to being part of Molson Group team. Their reputation for a customer-focused approach is a great match for the values on which we have built the success of our business. And the financial backing of the Molson Group, alongside working with our new sister companies on the West Coast, will give us access to more inventory of machines, parts and knowledge, which will inevitably give us a competitive edge across our regions.”

The acquisition is fully supported by Terex, the parent company of Powerscreen. Pat Brian, Vice President at Terex Corporation says that the deal will allow for further expansion of the Terex brands served by the Molson Group. “We class Molson Group as one of our strategic partners globally. We have worked with Molson for many years and have seen them grow significantly thanks to their digitally focused approach and strong strategic leadership. We look forward to working closely with them to develop their market share throughout the states served by Powerscreen Texas.”
